These Independent British Female Designers are growing their own businesses and we as an independent retailer love supporting them; they bring much-needed originality and variety to the gift buying experience. As a customer you in turn are supporting them too!
Rachel's hand-drawn characters have become instantly recognisable, and her charming style coupled with a top quality product means that Rachel Ellen has become a highly regarded giftware brand. The business was first established in 1997 and is now based in a Victorian print factory in Nottingham, UK. We have been selling this brand since 2000.
Jamali-Annay was established in 2009 by childhood friends Louise Smith and Rachel Broady and is named after Rachel’s children JAMes and ALIce and Louise’s children ANNa and fAY. Jamali Annay's ceramic pieces are handmade and hand painted in their workshop in Knaresborough North Yorkshire, using clay, glaze and paint sourced from within the north of England.
Marie set up Bloom Remedies in 2012, staring out small selling on farmers markets and now boasts 14 national beauty awards. Small batch producers of award wining natural, organic, skincare and wellness products based in the Wilds of West Cornwall. Every stage of their making process using high quality botanical ingredients is done by hand - from mixing, to labelling and bottling.
Jo Nicholls started making candles in her kitchen in 1994, selling as Jo's Candles on market stalls. Lily-Flame was selected to be sponsored by the Prince's Trust in 2004. Their candles are manufactured in deepest Somerset, in the wilds of the Glastonbury countryside. Lily-Flame is the UK’s number one favourite scented candle maker.
In 1999, Carrie began creating beautifully handmade jewellery in South Wales. Now a leading supplier to independent gift shops across the uk and beyond, she even has self employed home workers manufacturing the jewellery to the highest standards.
La de da! Living was established in 2011 by sisters Rita & Dominique. It was created from the girls’ desire to offer unique and thoughtful gifts to be truly loved and treasured forever.
