New Arrivals This Week

Its been a busy day here at More Than Just a Gift - Narborough Hall. First thing this morning we had a big delivery from Joma Jewellery. So lots of your favourite ‘a little’ bracelets are back in stock, including a little Strength and a little Guardian Angel, both of which couldn’t be more appropriate right now (see the full collection here). Today, strangely enough, marks the end of International Stress Awareness week. This time last week there were only the faintest rumours of a new lockdown and here we are now on day two. And there’s no denying it, the worldwide population has never experienced a challenge quite like this before. The news is full of worrying figures of all kinds which is difficult sometimes to process. Over last weekend, I found that I was obsessively checking the news for more information as details were coming out about the new restrictions. It was pretty much the worst case scenario as far as our business is concerned, the spring/summer lockdown was bad, but without any seasonal events, it is our quieter time of year. November on the other hand is not! With it looking very possible it will continue into December too, its impact on Christmas shopping will be huge. By Sunday night I just knew I had to step out of it for a while and concentrate on the things I could control. I count myself incredibly lucky to work with all the beautiful things (and beautiful people) that I do. It never fails to bring me a little bit of joy. 

So there’s stress on that bigger scale, but there’s also stress on a more micro scale. Today, we went back to doing our local home deliveries. And I remembered one of my micro-stresses from last lockdown- my total inability to follow directions! Last time, back in the spring, it was still light when we were delivering after work. Today, it was pitch dark and it was harder than ever to find the right house. I decided that we will have to switch to morning deliveries from now on as much as possible to give me at least some chance of finding my way! It was good though to be delivering to so many familiar addresses. We’d like to say a huge, enormous, gigantic thank you to all our customers, old and new, who have been so supportive throughout this time. We genuinely do appreciate it so much.

We truly love what we do and are determined to keep on doing it despite all the challenges this Covid Crisis presents.
